2025 Nissan Kicks

Written by Marco V. Carvajal

The new 2025 Nissan Kicks second generation gets better with more power and features, keeping its core value.

Designed to energize the compact crossover segment, the new generation is enhanced with bold, sporty shapes and undeniable style.

The first-generation Nissan Kicks was introduced 7 years ago in 2018, and now for 2025, the kicks has evolved, producing the second-generation, which continues to improve its design, style, features, power, and low pricing with value.

The Nissan Kicks is the entry-level model within Nissan’s portfolio of adventure-ready sport-utilities, joining the lineup with higher models like the Rogue Sport, Rogue, Murano, Pathfinder, and Armada.

All Wheel Drive Power for the Nissan Kicks

Nissan gives more power to the Kicks; it swaps a torsion beam axle for a multi-link rear suspension on AWD models, which should better handle lateral and vertical movements. It also grows upward and outward, with significantly more ground clearance (8.4 inches) compared to its predecessor (7.0 inches), and is 2.7 inches longer with a wheelbase that has grown 1.5 inches.

The new Kicks is wider and taller, increasing both passenger and cargo volume.

Every Kicks trim model is offered with optional Intelligent All-Wheel Drive, providing additional confidence and control in different weather conditions and road surfaces.

The available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system continuously monitors road conditions and can quickly respond to help provide more traction as required.

Adding AWD to your Nissan Kicks also adds a “Snow” driving mode that adjusts the logic of the all-wheel-drive and vehicle dynamic control systems with tuning specifically intended for slippery surfaces.

Snow mode keeps control using targeted brake application to help further ensure the Kicks stays on the driver’s intended line when cornering on difficult snow or ice.

As an added benefit when navigating rough roads or snow, Kicks boasts segment-leading ground clearance of 8.4 inches.

Considering the Kicks’ low price and small size, AWD and other features are a big advantage for this CUV when compared with other cars in its segment.

  • Valvetrain: 4 valves per cylinder with Continuous Variable Valve Timing Control System
  • Fuel tank (gallons) 11.9 FWD or 12.4 AWD
  • 28 MPG City
  • 35 MPG Highway
  • Horsepower: 141 @ 6,000 rpm
  • Torque (lb-ft): 140 @ 4,000 rpm
  • Transmission type: Xtronic

All Kicks come well equipped with automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitors, lane-departure warnings, and automatic high beams.

Its 3-year/36,000-mile warranty is complemented by complimentary scheduled maintenance for two years or 24,000 miles.

The new 2025 Nissan Kicks is designed to meet the needs of singles or couples seeking unique style, spaciousness, personal technology, smart functionality, and advanced safety at an affordable price.

Models and Pricing

The 2025 Kicks CUV is manufactured in Mexico, and it is offered in three compelling grade levels, S, SV, and SR

The new second-generation Kicks small crossover is now priced $490 more than the previous 2024 Kicks.

In 2025, this compact SUV will now serve as the entry point to the brand, alongside the Sentra, with the planned discontinuation of the Nissan Versa subcompact car.

The Kicks is designed to stand out. It features a strong, wide stance and an abundance of thoughtful details with bright exterior colors.

The Kicks’ interior has a similarly modern look, highlighted by the available dual 12.3-inch dash screens.

  • 2025 Nissan Kicks S, MSRP $21,830
  • 2025 Nissan Kicks SV, MSRP $23,680
  • 2025 Nissan Kicks SR, MSRP $26,180

All-wheel drive is available for $1,500 on S and SR models, though it costs $1,650 on the most popular SV model.

Bigger, roomier, sleeker, and more powerful for 2025, the new Kicks comes with a 2.0-liter inline-four engine that generates 141 hp and 140 lb-ft of torque. It’s paired with a CVT that drives the front wheels.

Competition

The Kicks competes well in the small crossover segment in capacity and its low price. Even with all the generous features included, it has a similar price to the Chevrolet Trax, Ford EcoSport, Honda HR-V, Hyundai Kona, Kia Seltos, Kia Soul, Mazda CX-30, and Toyota C-HR.

The Nissan Kicks’ advantage is its optional AWD, its robust, sporty, and modern style, and offering a lot of features that look very appealing against its competitors.

As Nissan reshapes expectations across all vehicle segments, the Kicks surpasses its competitors with best-in-class standard ground clearance and best-in-class standard cargo space.

Advanced Technology

The 2025 Nissan Kicks features even more available technology and capability to improve owners’ lives, all wrapped within a bold new design.

The addition of available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive, a Kicks first, gives customers more confidence on the road in clear or inclement weather.

The Kicks also features a new 2.0-liter inline-four engine that delivers more power and torque, plus a more responsive Xtronic transmission.
